2D Level Maps
2D Map of level designs.
The most important thing to do before creating a 3D layout is to make a 2D map which I have learnt.
The 2D layout because it is easy to create and only involves simple shapes in order for you to give an idea on how you would like your level to be layed out.

Concepts
I have choosen to go for the club level.
I decided upon this due to the range of colours I could use in my level design.
There is plenty of opportunity to use neon lights which would bring different colours to any other level.
For this assignment I have found that the imagery from the film 'The Warriors' very useful.
Although the film is based in the late 1970's. I find I could easily form the violence to a more 90s look/feel.
For the level I have been assigned to do 4 different parts for the level.
I could cut the parts up by having fight sequence:
1. starting outside trying to get into the club
2. Reception of club
3. Inside the club (on the dancefloor)
4. The last stage could be in the VIP booth.
These are just ideas which I'm drawing up concepts for.

Research
I've played plenty of side scrolling beat 'em up games but, if I'm to create a level for Street Fist 2 it's important to do some research to help me understand this prject a little more.
Games which would be influencuial it this project:
- Streets of Rage 2
- Double Dragon
- Final Fight
There are plenty of other beat 'em ups such as Altered Beast and Golden Axe but I think it's important to concentrate more the games I listed above because they resemble Street Fist 2 in the sense the games are based in run down towns full of goons.
The game Double Dragon Neon which was just released so I could use that to have some modern influsences on how they've revived a classic beat em up from the 90s.
